Microbiology lab facilities
Study of dangerous bacteria for metals, and leading to corrosion.
In our microbiological lab, we grow microorganisms playing an important role in corrosion of metals (MIC or biocorrosion) in order to accelerate biocorrosion phenomena and realize tests.
Role of the Biocorrosion lab
Microbiological characterization
We seek to determine the distribution, number, morphology, diversity and activity of bacteria present on the surface of the material in the biofilm or the environment.
Microorganisms playing an important role in the biocorrosion phenomena and the more often studied are Sulphate-Reducing Bacteria (SRB), Thiosulfate-reducing Bacteria (TRB), Iron related Bacteria (IRB) and Acid producing bacteria (APB).
