Know-how

  • Explain the mechanisms of corrosion, particularly biocorrosion (Microbially Influenced Corrosion - MIC);
  • Reproduce in laboratory the same conditions and environment that led to damaging the material (temperature, pH, oxygen, microorganisms…);
  • Know the behaviour of materials in the long term.
  • Accompany the study results with practical recommendations;
  • To give advices on protection systems for metallic structures (paints, cathodic protection, biocide);
  • Increase life span and security of industrial structures.

All aspects of the biodeterioration of materials in the industrial sectors are studied:
  • Either in natural environment;
  • Or in laboratory, in reproducing the natural conditions of use of the expertised systems (natural environment, samples of materials taken from installations…).
