Analytical process

Identify, understand, prevent corrosion phenomena

Analysis :

- of the nature (morphology) and importance (depth and surface repartition) of the corrosion

- of the data provided by the qualitative and semi-quantitative elementary analysis of the materials involved in the corrosion processes (substrates, corrosion products)

- SEM images

Equipments

SEM cavitation phenomenon on steel

- Equipments for sample preparation for metallographic examination

- Stereoscopic microscope,metallographic microscope (inverted or upright examination in optical microscopy)

- Microhardness testing : microhardness testing of materials, estimation of the degree of offset-strain related to their production process ( lamination, stamping…)

- Scanning Electronic Microscope (SEM)

- EDS analyser (Energy Dispersive Spectrometry)

Examination with SEM of various samples with no particular preparation (maximum magnification from 5000 to 15000 times according to the nature of the sample)

Qualitative and quantitative elementary examination (quantitative in optimum conditions of use)
